2025 AYDN Student Council Officers

Elsa Han – President/Chair of English Program/Operation Planning and Organization/Volunteer Management and Training
Elsa is a rising junior from San Diego, CA. She’s always been interested in writing, having numerous awards nanopublications under her name. Additionally, she plays the viola in orchestra and is team manager of her state-finalist Color guard.

Honglin Liu – Vice President/Chair of Science Program/Academic Improvement/Events
Honglin is a freshman from Dallas, TX, studies at School of Science and Engineering. He has been teaching for AYDN for 4 years now, with over 400 hours of teaching time. Twice TMSCA science championship qualifier. Allen Eagles ice hockey club player, USA Hockey referee, honor band clarinet player. His painting received an honorable mention award in the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. He enjoys cubing whenever he has time. Studying may not be top of your fun-things-to-do-list, but we still can make it more enjoyable.

Carolyn Sun – Vice President/Vice Chair of English Program
Carolyn is a rising junior from Florida and has been an active member of AYDN since her freshman year. A dedicated student, she has consistently made the high honor roll since middle school and is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. While she primarily assists students with their English language skills, she also has a strong passion for History and Biotechnology—so much so that she even considers writing lab reports one of her hobbies.
As a true thalassophile (ocean lover), Carolyn enjoys scuba diving in her free time and holds a Rescue Diver certification. Her love for the ocean fuels both her curiosity and her commitment to helping others, as she also holds an Emergency Medical Services Certification.

Logan Liu – Vice President/Officer of English Program
Logan is an 8th grader. Logan loves reading and math and he is a straight A student in the school. He has got perfect scores in the statewide assessment exams. He also has been named as the state Junior Scholar. He enjoys helping kids in
his family and his neighborhood with reading or math problems. He has taught 11 classes at AYDN and received the President’s Volunteer Service Award three times. He likes to interact with his students with questions during his class
and guides his students to solve problems by themselves. During his free time, he likes to play soccer, tennis, and the cello. He has been to almost all the national parks in the East Coast and the West Coast. He also likes to travel all around
the world. He thinks these activities are fun and broadens his horizons.

Lychee Li – Chair of Social Media
Lychee is a positive and creative freshman. She has been an active member of AYDN since 7th grade. She teaches digital and physical arts, piano, Chinese, and English. She received 3 Gold Awards from The President’s Volunteer Service Award, serving a total of 752 hours. Lychee is courageous and enjoys thrilling activities. She rode the world’s tallest roller coasters, dissected different animals, flew an aircraft when she was 11 years old, climbed steep mountains with boys because other girls were unable to follow her pace, and was the only girl who jumped off a 12-foot-tall tree out of 100 of them. Lychee is an actress, artist, orator, pianist, dancer, and water polo player. Her dreams are to skydive, become a surgeon, and invest, direct, and act in her own crime film.

Charles Ruan- Chair of Math Program
Charles is the vice president of his school’s Physics Club and actively competes in both the F=ma exam and Physics Bowl, striving for outstanding results. He is also an AIME Qualifier, a Scholastic Silver Key Medalist, and has earned the President’s Honor Roll at his school. In his spare time, he enjoys watching and playing sports, gaming, weightlifting and playing chess.

Isabella Tao – Officer of English Program
Isabella is a passionate and diligent student who will soon be entering 9th grade. Since joining AYDN in 2022, she has taken on the role of an instructor, teaching Great Writing Level 2, Roman History, and the Renaissance. With an insatiable curiosity for the past, Isabella has developed a profound passion for history, particularly in the realms of European and East Asian civilizations. Her deep fascination with East Asian history has led her to embark on an independent journey of learning Japanese, further enriching her understanding of the region’s culture and historical narratives. In addition to history, Isabella enjoys drawing, video editing, playing the piano, and practicing Taekwondo, constantly seeking new ways to express her creativity and challenge herself.

Ethan Jiang – Officer of Math Program
Ethan Jiang is a 12-year-old rising 8th grader. He is an honors math student at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. In 2024, he scored on the honor roll for the AMC 8, and in 2025, he scored distinguished in the AMC 8. He also received the Best 6th Grader award at the MATHCOUNTS Harrisburg, PA chapter competition in 2024. Ethan is a skilled musician, contributing his talents to the Harrisburg Youth Symphony Orchestra as a violinist while also playing the piano. In his leisure time, he enjoys immersing himself in literature, particularly in the mysterious and humorous genres. Some of his passions are volunteering, playing the violin, and taking care of his pets. All of these activities he says can be very calming and fun to do.

Sophia Jia – Officer of Math Program
Sophia Jia is an outgoing and confident seventh grader from Virginia who has been an active member at AYDN since 2022. She teaches her favorite subject, math, which includes Math Kangaroo, and COGAT. Rarely, she teaches a bit of reading. She is a dancer, artist, and an outgoing person who enjoys sharing knowledge with others, fueling her desire to teach. Sophia has never been afraid to socialize with others or speak her mind. Other than math, Sophia is very passionate about reading, writing, and dance, which she has been doing ever since she was four years old.

Isabella is a high school senior who has been actively involved with AYDN since its founding in 2021. Her roles include Student Council Chair (2023-2024), Vice Chair (2022-2023), and Chair of English Club (2022-2024). Throughout her time with AYDN, Isabella has designed and taught five reading and writing workshops, organized and led summer reading challenges and a vocabulary contest, and served as a judge for a writing contest. Additionally, she organized a high school conference over the summer to help students transition into high school. For more than two years, she has also edited and provided feedback on writing submissions from elementary and middle school students in AYDN’s yearlong writing club, helping young writers refine their skills.

Martin Fu – Advisor
Martin is a high school senior and has been a part of AYDN since his freshman year. During the past three years, Martin has taught multiple classes ranging from Algebra 1 to AP World History. He also has many influential roles including being the Vice Chair of the AYDN student council (2022 – 2024), facilitating the training curriculum of our new volunteers. Over the past three years Martin has trained and mentored over 50 new volunteers expanding our program nationwide. Recently, he also is sharing responsibilities with our Instagram account which is still growing. With over 90 volunteers and hundreds of students (even internationally), AYDN is growing fast under our talented board members including himself.
